I love astronomy and the night sky, but have a degree in Communications and Theater. That just goes to show that anyone can do amateur astronomy - all one needs is the desire! I've built several telescopes and nearly every tripod I use today, and owned upwards of 30 small telescopes over my life. Above all, I want more people to see more stars and connect with the universe, by working to educate about the night sky and light pollution, via communicating clearly and simply about how anyone can do visual / observational astronomy.

Scrapbooking is a passion that all three of us have shared for a long time. It is something that has brought us together on countless occasions and strengthened our family bond. The idea for Kiwi Lane started in 2008 while we were scrapbooking together. We were complaining to each other that most of the samples that we found in magazines and online were for one-picture, one-page layouts and depended heavily on expensive embellishments to accomplish their look. It was this frustration that led us to develop a new style of scrapbooking that provided endless inspiration and simplified the scrapbooking process. We called this technique āFraming,ā and it changed the way that we scrapbooked, allowing us to add as many pictures as we wanted and end up with a beautiful, balanced, professional layout every time.

Hi, my name is Myles Power, I am originally from Middlesbrough in the north east of England. I have been called a geek by nearly every one I have ever met, including my mother! It probably has something to do with my favourite TV show being Star Trek Enterprise, playing several instruments (but most skilled on the saxophone), and owning multiple sonic screwdrivers. I have always had an interest in science from a young age, I was able to continue this interest by studying Chemistry at University. Whilst at university, I specialised in organic synthesis and also gained an appreciation of Biological Chemistry. I want to share my love of science online by producing home experiment videos in the hope of encouraging the next generation of scientist to try them for themselves.

Thereās nothing more fun and fulfilling than teaching kids science. My company, Supercharged Science, which provides educational science curriculum programs to homeschool families and teachers, evolved through time as I worked at NASA, taught mechanical engineering at Cal Poly, flew airplanes, launched rockets, and help design engines for a very special F-15. For the past 13 years, I have taught parents, educators and kids through my passion for learning and made over a thousand science video demonstrations that cover hands-on science activities, experiments, and projects. My best-selling homeschool science curriculum programs get kids excited about science and prepared for the real world before they even have to fill out a college application.

Curious about teaching on Curious?
We started Curious because we wanted to help the world's best teachers (of anything) become entrepreneurs, and reach a global audience. We really believe it is possible for teachers to provide great instruction to students halfway around the world, and make good money doing it. If you are great at teaching something, keep reading to see if the Curious platform is right for you.
Why do teachers love Curious?
- It all starts with the lessons. At Curious, lessons are short, fun and engaging. They cause the students to lean forward, interact with other students and (gasp) the teacher, and actually do what you are teaching them.
- We turn teachers into entrepreneurs. Our platform allows you to create a family of lessons, group them into series, and add related products or services. You benefit from everything Curious knows about how to structure and sell lessons most effectively--so you can focus on creating great content and connecting with your students.
- Brand building, not just lesson building. The Curious platform was built to allow each teacher to create an unique learning brand. Students at Curious love all kinds of teaching styles, and appreciate quirky or fresh approaches that can lead to a cult following.
- A qualified audience comes built-in. How many hours have you spent wondering why nobody is finding your brilliant instructional videos? Curious has a built-in community of passionate lifelong learners eager to interact with you. No need to worry about crude comments or disrespectful students—everybody is authenticated, and there to learn.
- Build it yourself. Curious offers a powerful, easy-to-use platform that allows you to create, design, edit, share and promote your video-based lessons on Curious, as well as your own blog or website.
Convinced yet? Here's how to get started:
- Learn something on Curious. Create an account at Curious so you can get familiar with the types of lessons on Curious, and the different teaching styles. Which style and content do you like the best?
- Apply. Click here to fill out a short application to be a teacher. You will need to point us to at least one video online of you teaching your subject matter. We will get back to you within three business days.
- Create and share your lessons. You start by recording new videos or uploading videos you have already created. Then you add sections, exercises, attachments and marketing information. Share via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, your blog, or carrier pigeon that you're a Curious teacher. As students enroll in your lessons, engage with them so that they master the material and want to keep learning from you.
- Grow your students and lessons. Create series of lessons to teach more in-depth subjects. Sell more advanced lessons to your new student base and ask them what they want to learn next.
Still have questions?
No problem, we love answering questions from teachers! Drop us a line and we will get back to you as soon as humanly possible: teachersupport@curious.com
