Michelle, I have come to realize that in order to accomplish your goals in life other people have to accomplish their own goals! For instance, if you are going food shopping the people that deliver the food have to accomplish their goals to get the food to the store, if you are going to get gas for your car the gas station has to have gas. So I guess what I am saying is that in life you cannot accomplish your goals in unless other people accomplish their's! It is a vicious cycle!

Mark, I agree with you. In life we must rely on other people to accomplish their goals so that we can accomplish ours. Sometimes you can depend on others too much, and it can be used as an excuse when others don't achieve their goals so we can't achieve ours. This video is asking you to look at some opportunities where you can work on a goal yourself and not depend on others. You may have a greater chance of success by doing it this way. In the case of Regina, it worked to her advantage.

Michelle, your motivational lessons are very informative and I enjoy them very much. In Physical Medicine when you evaluate a patient you have to set realistic goals for them to meet. If they meet those initial goals or do not reach the initial goals that you set for them then you have to re-evaluate and make changes. Even the most simple task like "lifting a spoon" that most everyone takes for granted may be a goal that could change the life of that person which may motivate them to do more!

I am so happy that you are watching my lessons and sharing your ideas too, Mark. I like what you said about setting realistic goals for people. If you have some type of disability and lifting a spoon is too much for you, then starting with a simpler task is the best way to keep that person motivated. If s/he does achieves the other goal, you can still work towards lifting the spoon and hopefully eventually get there. It's all about making progress.
