I would like to see how you hold the live or active yarn in our dominant hand while knitting. I lift the yarn and wrap it on to the needle. It feels like it takes longer to finish a project; I am a crocheter and complete projects much faster, but have a desire to be more efficient with knitting.
New Stitch a Day
Hi Alleta! You may find continental style knitting a little easier for you to master, but I do not have a free tutorial on how to learn that style. We do have a class on our website that can help. It's not free but it's not expensive either: http://newstitchaday.com/classes/knitting-styles-102-continental-for-beginners/
New Stitch a Day
I do have a video on New Stitch a Day that shows how I tension my yarn knitting English style in more detail. You may find that useful as well: http://newstitchaday.com/how-to-tension-your-yarn-when-knitting/
