Hi Dr. LIsa, Could creativity be a function or cause of the whole picture processing of the right brain? Also creativity from the research I have done it seems that the brain recruits several brain areas from both hemispheres to perform creative problem solving. What are you thoughts on this?
Dr. Lisa
It appears that the right brain is more "big picture" and the left brain is more "picky details", and a lot of creativity seems to be seeing things in a different way, so it's indeed possible that a brain that is more "flexible" in processing can be more creative.

Hi Dr. Lisa. Is there any research you would recommend on how to develop the right side brain features? I seem to be very bad at everything the right hemisphere is responsible for.
Dr. Lisa
My best suggestion is to practice! Practice reading maps or doing simple spatial puzzles, learn to play a musical instrument or take singing lessons ("tone deaf" isn't a permanent thing for many people), just keep trying. Our brain is more flexible than we often think, and practice even in adults can make permanent changes.
