2 CQ

Today's Nerdy Curio is brought to you by 60-Second Science. Increasing or decreasing the altitude of aircraft a few thousand feet to avoid thin layers of humidity could make a deep cut to contrails' contribution to climate change.

When 9/11 shut down airlines I saw a study that showed the lack of contrails lead to warming the atmosphere. That seems to be real-world testing for the overall effects.

Sounds more like that study after 9/11 couldn’t have actually performed meaningful measurements to come to such a conclusion since flights weren’t grounded long enough to have created a climactic difference, and especially since it’s in direct contrast with the report now, which presumes longer duration of study and therefore more data and more statistical relevance.
