I honestly have a hard time buying into the theory that certain people have “perfect” pitch. I say this because in order to have this theoretical “perfect” or “absolute” pitch, that person would also have to have some sort of educated background in what a pitch is. For example, if a person never had ant formal training on what the notes of chromatic or diatonic scale were, then how would they reference a note that is in a certain pitch? He wouldn’t even know to call a pitch an A or a C# etc...

Because they hear them as a sound "colors" until they learn the names of the notes.

It is difficult for my mind to hold onto the exact note i am humming, it keeps on going higher or lower while i listen to the strings, like my mind wants to match what im playing. This is my first time, i will keep on practicing. Thank you this lesson is well explained.
