I've loved these lessons. They help a lot with my writing. My lion cub, whose name is Simba. He has a mark on his shoulder, and he had it since he was born. My story is a buffy/lion king crossover fanfiction.

How do I make my main character different than from the others? He’s a lion cub? Because I’m thinking of making him sarcastic but not enough that my readers will not like him.
T. P. Jagger
Ashley, having a slightly sarcastic character is a solid way of making a protagonist stand out. That character can still be likable as long as the sarcasm leans more toward humorous, not cruel. However, that comes with a caveat--keep your audience in mind. You mentioned that your main character is a lion cub, which makes me think you may be writing for a younger audience. If that's the case, be careful with sarcasm; it isn't something I'd employ in a picture book manuscript. Happy writing! :)

FANTASTIC video series! I'm an English teacher, and I found a lot of things professors in college cut corners on. Very informative/helpful.

I've been writing for a long time, but have found something in all of these lessons so far that has been immensely helpful. Thank you!

Thanks for the kind comment, Michelle. I'm always trying to improve my own writing craft, so I know how beneficial it is to come across new, useful tips. I'm glad my lessons are providing some of that for you and your own writing! :)
