NASA's InSight spacecraft recently arrived at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, to begin final preparations for launch. Today's Nerdy Curio from NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab is a short peek into InSight's arrival. InSight will be the first mission to look deep beneath the Martian surface, studying the planet's interior by listening for marsquakes and measuring its heat output. It will be the first planetary spacecraft to launch from this west coast launch facility. The launch period for InSight opens May 5, 2018 and continues through June 8, 2018.
