Professionally trained violinist and educator, Amy Gardner currently teaches strings and orchestra at Academia Cotopaxi, the premier international IB school in Quito, Ecuador.
Amy studied violin performance with Burton Kaplan at Manhattan School of Music in New York City. After finishing her undergrad, she moved to Beijing, China where she performed regularly as a soloist and as a founding member of the popular Bluegrass band, The Redbucks. Moving to Ecuador in 2011, Amy continues nursing her passion for music through her work in the schools.
Teaching privately and in schools for over 10 years, Amy is a certified Suzuki teacher with experience teaching students age 3 to adult.
