Great this looks fun
Fabin BC
You're right Ericka - you could have a fabric stripping party with a few friends to help :-)

love the bird songs and the "out takes" because it shows how to remedy things, which is just as important as the basic method
Fabin BC
Yes Marta - real life is very important. We all make mistakes and should be proud of them, because that's how we improve and grow :-)

What is the name of the loom you are using to make rag rugs?
Fabin BC
We call it a salish loom Hope. We designed it based on the very simple technique that the Salish native people used. We have made downloadable plans available and all proceeds go to support the llamas in our sanctuary.

How much material does this rug require? I have tons of scraps but need to get an idea for color and pattern. Thanks
Fabin BC
Hello RaeAnn I will list below three rug sizes in inches and their weights. This should give you an idea :-) 30x31 = 3lb 6oz (1531 grams - 3 inch strips) 30x23 = 2lb 14 oz (1311 grams - narrower strips) 24x50 = 4lb 7oz (2011 grams - narrower strips) I hope this gives you a rough guide to getting started. Happy twining - Lynne

Fabin BC
