Why do humans have the tendency to have "that voice" that hinders confidence?

So sorry to be slow to reply... Our inner voice can either help or hinder, depending on how we train it. If we have an inner voice that says, "You can do it! You have what it takes!", then we are more likely to back ourselves. Conversely, if we allow our inner voice to reflect our anxieties, then it will hinder... Listen to your inner voice and make changes as you recognise the things that need to be changed :)

Thanks for the response! I was ultimately asking why it is that we have that voice in the first place, though? It might be a difficult question to answer, but the difficult questions are the ones I need answers to! xD
Excel in Exams
Ahhhh! Well, that reply is a little longer: that voice inside is our consciousness...one of the elements that we believe sets us apart from non-sentient beings. Freud would argue that we have three main "voices": our id, ego and superego which represent various aspects of our personality. Others would argue that consciousness is a survival mechanism, allowing us the option of decision-making rather than merely working off instinct. The big questions indeed! :)
