The whole effort of naturalism is to prove that the only reality is the reality of discoverable explanations without the intervention of god. It takes as much faith in this complex process as it does to believe in god. Science desperately wants to explain consciousness which also has no connection to any scientific process that would cause such a thing to emerge from unconsciousness. But the naturalists are desperate to disprove a separate reality apart from The brain.
