Great lecture. But i have 3 questions. 1-No ATP is produced during second electron transport chain in non cyclic pathway? 2- in non cyclic pathway when electron from photosystem680 travels to photosystem 700 how does same electron get strike by light? 3- in non cyclic pathway why electron is still high energetic even after travelling second electron transport chain?

So, does a plant then run both the cyclic and the non-cyclic pathway simultaneously? Are the ground state electrons that are "produced" at the end of P700 used again in P700 along with the "new" ground state electrons received from P680?
Craig Savage
Plants do run both the cyclic and the non-cyclic pathways at the same time. The answer to your second question is "yes"
