    Jim W
    have you considered using a "dop stick". It would provide better control than using your husband's channel lock pliers (and it would avoid a possible confrontation over leaving one of his precious tools "dirty"). Dop sticks are used in lapidary work. If my memory serves me right, a dop stick is simply a wooden dowel stick, attached to the glass by wax, melted with a lighter. I'm sure there is a "special" wax (ie, expensive) designed specially for this purpose. Great job, thanks, JIM

    this was very nice. I just bought a box of 'ugly' nail polish at a garage sale for $1 thinking of using them on my dog's nails but now I have another use for them as well.

    What so you need to do to the stones before applying any nail polish? I thought you said to apply something to get them ready to be dipped. I thought they came out wonderful and would like to try this myself.
