    Very fun idea. I'm wondering if there would be a simpler way of making the posts by just making them with polymer clay. Maybe just making snakes with an extruder and baking them? If you did, how would you texture them?

    Actually, the wooden armatures are a key part of this design because long thin posts of polymer would never last.

    Thanks, Teresa. It was just a thought. I ended up finding round wooden chopsticks in my kitchen drawer and being able to use them thanks to your instructions on how to score the wooden sticks and break them. You give wonderfully clear instructions every step of the way.

    Actually, you've already seen my first draft - I posted it on your HOP page (remember the scissors?). It was half done and I sent a picture , but when I went back to work on it, I was so excited that it flew out of my hands and smashed on the floor! Usually when we work with pc, it's unbreakable. A word to the wise - these sand timers are a bit fragile! But I wasn't happy with my first version anyway - I think my sub-conscious made me smash it. I'll try again and up my game a little. ;-)

    Just wondering if I'm a fussbudget (Yes) but I think I would have put the top/bottom stamped section on before adding the edge embellishments. That way you hide the join. Should I mention I have a woodworking perfectionist father?? :D
