If you use 'acrylic medium and varnish" by Liquetex as a final varnish it can also act like your isolation mixture, as it binds on a monocular level with the acrylic paint, A hair dryer will set the acrylic.

Since I don't use the Liquetex product, I wasn't aware of that capability. I also use the isolation coat to add depth to each layer of colors when I'm working. Try it & I think you'll like the effect!
