Right, only for the cable one you insert the needle in between the stitches, instead of in the stitch. So glad you like it!

Awesome tutorial. I can knit, but just barely and I learn best by watching and then trying myself. This works for me. I had only known the 'sloppy way' of casting on, but I do like the look for the long tail one, and someday when I can try again, (sprained wrist right now) I will try this new method...and yes, I will practice both long tail and the knit on ways. Thank you for the information. Maybe, just maybe, I might try to knit something more than a hat or scarf. :) Blessings!
