Thank you for presenting these valuable skills so clearly, and with examples. I feel that now I have more ways to tell if I'm being a good active listener who is assertive and empathetic - and if not, some new tools to correct my part of the communication.

thanks for the feedback. yes practice is always needed. I always tell clients to pick one technique and try it. Don't try and remember everything, get one skill going well and before you know it it will become a habit. Then come back and learn another skill and add that to your toolbox!! :)
