Ahmet Akarsu is a computer engineer from North Cyprus who has been teaching different subjects including Turkish for Britishers, mathematics, physics, acoustics, computing and ICT, for about 15 years, at different schools ranging from elementary to University. He has also given courses to teachers related with using technology in their classrooms.
Ahmet is co-author of two ICT textbooks and editor of two mathematics textbooks, all of which are currently being used in secondary schools of North Cyprus. He is also a self-educated musician who plays a number of instruments including violin, accordion, ud, kaval, darbuka, and has taken part in several published audio recordings both in Cyprus and abroad.
Ahmet's most favourite hobbies are traveling and learning about different cultures and languages. When he participates international festivals abroad to perform folk music of Cyprus, he sometimes, as a surprise, talks and sings in the languages of those countries and greatly enjoys receiving appreciation of the audiences and the local media.
Ahmet's native language is Turkish. He speaks English fluently. He also understands some Slovak, German and Spanish.
Apart from being a teacher, Ahmet is a life-long learner. He simply loves learning and teaching...
