Have you ever made this recipe with frozen strawberries? I sometimes have a hard time finding fresh organic berries in the supermarket.
Curious .
No I have not, but I imagine it could work quite well. You can try to work with the frozen berries, and not thaw them. Keeping the pie in the fridge or freezer at all times may equate to them holding their consistency well in the presence of other ingredients. Or you can allow them to thaw so you know how much extra liquid you are dealing with and then proceed as appropriate with the remainder of ingredients, perhaps adding some flax or chia seed to help offset the extra liquid. Good luck!

Can you substitute Almond butter for cocoanut butter?
Curious .
Hi Penny, yes and no. The coconut butter is unique in that it will provide a hardening factor, especially when placed into a cool or cold environment, like a fridge. However, you could most definitely try it with almond butter, it will just most likely have a little harder time keeping its shape. Your almond butter here should be raw and organic, not the roasted, runny almond butters that are all too common. I share on my site EvolvingWellness.com a free guide to picking the best almond butter.
