I have been making smoothies for a while and I have been using baby kale, or spinach or curly kale. Also I use always a granny smith apple, carrots, sometimes kiwi or pineapple and mango, plus I use greek yogurt to get my calcium. I will get some flax seeds and add them in the future. You are most welcome, and it is wonderful to hear that you are enjoying a variety of different smoothies! As for the calcium, the leafy greens like kale are actually a much better and healthier source of calcium than yogurt.

That is good to know. I am not sure of the quantities of kale I need to get say 500mg of Calcium. Any idea?

Here are some examples of calcium in greens (source: Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Eat to Live) 100 calories of kale (about 3 cups which can easily go into a green smoothie) = 455mg Here are some other greens examples: 100 calories of bok choy = 1,055mg 100 calories of turnip greens = 921mg 100 calories of collard greens = 559mg When it comes to calcium, it goes far beyond dairy like, we've been conditioned. We have to consider the acid-alkaline ph balance of our diet, among many other things.

Arugula will rank similar to spinach. 100 calories of arugula will equal over 600mg of calcium. About 3 cups worth (a smoothie serving) will be about 100mg, according to nutritiondata.com All dark leafy greens are excellent sources of calcium and alkaline balancing minerals, which are key for proper bone health. For best results, a variety of them should be consumed as part of green smoothies, as rotating through the greens ensures we get the best of what each one offers. Enjoy :)
