Thank you for getting back to me, my wife made them the way you did in the video and they were more the crisp flaky buns from Pillsbury.

Great to get your feedback, thanks for taking the time. Sorry I am not familiar with Pillsbury so not sure if this is a query or a compliment!. But the lard I used was made with vegetable oil by Crisp n Dry. However all lard should give you a crispiness in the the short crust pastry made in this recipe. Hope it tasted good for you.

I have done this with pizza crust mix and macaroni and cheese. Baked them for about 25 minutes and they were, unfortunately still a little doughy. But the insides were great.

Hi Logan, Try the Short Crust Pastry in this recipe, this gives you a more crispy dough recipe, using the lard makes a difference. Just in case you did not see the recipe, the link can be found in the top right had side of this video – a paper clip icon.
