Stoked About Science
science lessons for the young and old:)

My name is Chris Stoker and I’m a physics teacher. I’ve taught physics and math for the last 16 years and I love it! I’m the advisor of the physics club at our high school where we develop and present demo shows at science events . I also run a science camp for kids during the summer.

I am a big believer in two principles: 1) Anyone can understand the basics of physics if it is presented in a conceptual and concrete way (read: non-math-y) and 2) Learning is a process of building mental models or frameworks for organizing ideas. Therefore, I think it is vital that students are actively involved in "sense-making" experiences rather than just passively absorbing information.

I try to incorporate those two principles into all my teaching--including these video lessons on Curious. I hope you enjoy them.

Oh, and it helps if it's fun too!
