Both of you are so talented. I completely enjoy the way you conduct your classes. My grand-daughter and I did in fact try the ice candle which I had written to you about. It turned out lovely but we forgot the scent we meant to add. This was our practice candle so that is OK. We are going to make another one for Morgan (the youngest grand-daughter) to give to her Mother for Mother's Day. Thank you both so much.
The O'Neil Sisters
Yay, Diane! Great job! And what a lovely idea for a Mother's Day gift! Let us know if you and your grand-daughter make more candles. It's so sweet that you're doing crafts with her. She's one lucky girl!

I am concerned re the safety using the scissors to make the hole in the milk carton. Using the awl is much safer and less likely to result in injury. Keeping the scissors closed vs open would be safer than with it open.
The O'Neil Sisters
Thanks for watching our candle lesson, Jeanne! And thank you for making such a great point about the awl. We definitely recommend using an awl to the make a hole in the carton if you feel uncomfortable using scissors. Crafting should be fun, not scary! Safety first! Let us know how your ice candle turns out -- we'd love to see a picture of it, too!

Really nice!! Love the color!
The O'Neil Sisters
Isn't the color nice?! We like that it looks icy! Thanks for watching our lesson -- let us know how your ice candle turns out!

I think the way the first question is worded, the 1/2 gallon mold is the correct answer. The wick, the wax, the ice, and everything else given is for the 1/2 gallon mold. Please re-read the question.
The O'Neil Sisters
Thanks for watching our lesson, Glenda! And you're absolutely right. The amount of wax and ice we list for this project is for half of a half-gallon milk carton. Be sure to adjust the amounts of wax and ice up or down to match the mold you choose to use. The fun thing is, you can use all kinds of recyclables as molds for this candle!

So so so so so pretty! Was it easy at first? Have you made them in a different color? Like green or burgundy? Wanna know so I can make one for my Memaw's living room
The O'Neil Sisters
Great questions, Samantha! Yes, this candle is super easy -- and fun -- to make. You can make the ice candle any color you like, and it should turn out fine. Green and burgundy sound nice! Let us know if you have any questions while your'e making your candles -- we'd be happy to help!
