Really enjoying the lessons, however, when I'm doing the "one an a two an a one an a two", how do you do the stops in between? Are you using the palm of your hand on the ukulele?

Yes, you can mute the strings with your hand. Use any parts that feel right. This is a casual style, so whatever works for you is fine.
