I get confused due to the fact that you do not say whether your palm is facing toward YOU or facing out. The question "to sign the letter E, you should hold your palm in front of you and fold your fingers and thumb over (the answer is True but I said false because "in front of you" was to me "facing" yourself while doing the sign.

I completely understand your confusion. To sign the letter E, you should hold your palm in front of you and fold your fingers and thumb over. Once you have made the E handshape simply turn the letter so that it is turned out, away from you. I hope this helps =)
