Really is it "Organic Gardening" or Home growing "Vegetables". Advertising for Kmart or Walmart where you get all that plastic gardening accessories. Just another poor use of the word "Organic", plus your raised beds from timber will rot. Plus if you plant your seedlings too deep they will get stem rot. Plus you need to water newly planted plants heaps more or they will wilt from stress. Just another Yankee likes to hear the sound of their own voice. "Permaculture" is true Organic Farming

What was the name of the calcium compound that you added after planting?? And don't you think you should have mentioned watering? Especially since improper watering is the cause of most fungal disease as well as blossom end rot? Otherwise, good basic info!

The product that was applied is called Azomite. It is a good source of Calcium and trace minerals. You can also add oyster shell lime as a source of Calcium. The cause of blossom end rot is a lack of calcium, not watering. Tomatoes do not like overhead watering and a drip system is a good method to water. You want to water deep and about once a week. Adding mulch around your plants will help conserve water. Hope this helps.
