    The poet does have his own specialized body of knowledge and skill set. This includes fluency with meter, assonance, metaphor, imagery, etc. The technical skill of poets can be meaningfully evaluated by others knowledgeable in the art and craft of poetry. What the poet has to SAY is something entirely different; is it insightful? does it represent the human experience more generally, etc? While I do not agree with Plato, this dialogue has prompted me to think more deeply about the arts.
