Hi I'm desperate to learn crochet and find your classes the best I've come across. I have a question regarding the extra stitch when going into the second stitch. When you read a pattern is this extra stitch given on the number of chain stitches or would you need to add it Many thanks Bobbi

Hi, Bobbi, I am so glad that you are enjoying my classes :) I am no quite sure what you mean by an extra stitch, are you referring to when you make a chain and skip the 1st chain and sc into the next stitch? If so then when reading a pattern they will include it in the chain and then say to sc into the 2nd ch from the hook. Let me know if this helps :)

Hello my name is Ann and I just started to follow your lesson, but my question to you is that my stiches for my chain seem to be too tight, so when I go to make the single chochet it is difficult to manage. How can I make sure I am not making my chain too tight - Thanks for the assistance
Gilly's Craft World
Hi Ann, The problem is your tension. By that I mean that you are pulling too tightly on the yarn. You are probably wrapping the yarn around your hook too tightly and then when you pull it through you are also going too tightly. The best thing I can suggest is to go to the opposite extreme so that you can see where you are going too tightly. So hold your yarn very loosely and crochet very loosely. Then go a little tighter, till you have the tension right. It just takes practise. Hope that helps :)
