Duncan Birmingham has been teaching the intriguing art of pop-up since 1989. He currently teaches illustration degree students at the University of the West of England, gives one-day workshops for secondary school teachers countrywide, and has also taught junior school, GCSE and adult education classes in this country and abroad. He enjoys enabling others to create and experiment with this unusual skill, and is continually inspired by the work and enthusiasm of his students.
Duncan studied art at the School of Expressive Arts, Sonoma State University in California and at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, England (formerly Saint Martins School of Art and Design). He has also worked as an illustrator, designed geometry posters for schools, and is the creator of the popular children’s puzzle book ‘M’ is for Mirror.
