You made this a lot clearer than any other crochet lesson from other people I've tried to learn from. Also you made the slip knot how my aunt and grandma taught me and I've never watched a tutorial that did it like them so I think that's very cool. :)

Ive got the single crochet down, but not so much with this half double crochet.I can't get the start down.

I have a very old stocking crocheted diagonally using half double stitches. I lost the pattern (1960 or 1970) and the grandchildren want me to make them one like their Dad's. I can see I increased on each end of a row, but then would the next row been just a row with no increases? I really don't want to rip this apart and watching your video I realize it is 2 stitches for next row not 1. Thanks for any help you can give me.
Knit and Crochet Ever After
Most likely you will be working a row of even HDC after the increase. If you did increases every row it would make a really wide triangle. For a more subtle triangle, doing one or even two rows of HDC will work.
