Thanks for the tips! I loved your description; since I'm blind, knowing what the difference is visually makes a real difference. Thank you again!

My biggest issue with sanding has always been sanding pieces that are textured or have sculpted components. And getting on the inside of donuts is seriously difficult. I've started using a spinning toothbrush for the sanding part, which has helped, but it still seems uneven, and you can see which parts couldn't be reached, which kind of negates the benefit of the sanding. Also, how long do you usually spend sanding, and how often would you recommend replacing sandpaper?
Cindy Lietz
Honestly, the toothbrush sanding is more hassle than what it is worth. For little details like the inside of a doughnut, you may find it a lot easier to just roll up a small piece of sandpaper into a tube to get into the hole. You should be using wet/dry sand paper and rinsing it in water regularly top keep it clean and useful longer. As far as how long it will last that depends on how much material you are trying to remove. I have lots more info on sanding on my blog at www.polymerclaytutor.com

Hi I would like to see how you sand a project, and with what tools.
Cindy Lietz
Thanks for the suggestions Linda! We'll see about adding more of that kind of thing in the future. In the meantime, if you would like to see some more videos on sanding, check out our blog at www.polymerclaytutor.com
