Very interesting and fun if you have plenty of time. Not an easy project for children to do, takes to much time to dry each piece. Other than that it is a great idea for lighting a path. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, Dawn! It's always possible to replace the step with the waxed paper and tissue paper and replace it with just construction paper. The children could even colored or paint the flame if they wanted. So many possibilities :-) I like your idea of creating a lighting path :-)

This is a clever idea! I think it would really be great for an "Olympic Parade" (summer or Winter Olympics) for elementary school students. I am sorry I have no coins to tip you with. I think this was an excellent lesson!
